| Tampa Theatre Stage |
The
Tampa Theatre is one of the few remaining
movie palaces in this great nation. Built in 1926, it avoided demolition in 1973 when the citizens of Tampa rallied to save it. It prompted the city to buy, restore, and fill it with concerts, screenings, and special events. Thank goodness, too, because what a gorgeous, national treasure this movie palace has become. The theatre is now managed by the non-profit Tampa Theatre Foundation.
